As a Discovery member of Genomics England, Healum was invited to its 4th Discovery Forum in London on 8 November 2018.

Nearing 100,000 genomes

Genomics England was fast approaching its 100,000th sequenced genome, marking the completion of its first phase. Joanne Hackett, Chief Commercial Officer of Genomics England, opened the morning by introducing the day’s speakers.

Turning data into better outcomes

The forum covered GeCIP, the Genomics England Clinical Interpretation Partnership, which brings together researchers from academia and the NHS to analyse the data for better clinical understanding and improved patient outcomes.

Throughout the day, the discussion returned to how genotype and phenotype data can be used in analytics to improve outcomes for patients.

The patient’s view

Julie Bartlett, a patient participant at the forum, was interested in Healum’s work on personalised self-management, and asked us to speak to the participant panel later in the year.

Along with the rest of the healthcare industry, we look forward to Genomics England reaching 100,000 genome sequences soon.
