Autumn 2018: an accelerator, a co-creation day and the conference circuit
Our first months on the DigitalHealth.London Accelerator, a day co-creating with BeeZee Bodies and its participants, and the workshops and conferences in between.

A round-up of where the Healum team has been from September to December 2018.
Joining the DigitalHealth.London Accelerator
In September, Healum joined the 2018–19 cohort of the DigitalHealth.London Accelerator, alongside 20 other companies, to speed up our journey in UK health tech.
In December, we joined the Health Innovation Network and the Accelerator companies for networking and drinks before the Christmas break, looking ahead to making 2019 more impactful for healthcare in the UK.
Building with the people who use it
In October, our marketing team spent a day in Bedford with our customer BeeZee Bodies, running a patient co-creation and feedback session with its staff and participants to shape the digital platform for its weight management programme.
In September, the NIHR and its production team filmed at our London office for a case study on how we developed a mobile app for managing type 2 diabetes.
Learning how the NHS works
In November, we went to a workshop by the Eastern Academic Health Science Network on NHS readiness and how procurement works in the NHS.
We also went to a workshop by Holly Sutton of Journalista on developing and refining communication for digital health: how to make complex ideas clear.
On the conference circuit
- Diabetes Professional Care, London (November). Exploring partnerships and the latest in diabetes technology.
- BDA Obesity, Birmingham (November). The British Dietetic Association’s conference on preventing and treating obesity in people with long-term conditions.
- Rural Health and Care, Lincoln (December). The East Midlands Academic Health Science Network’s conference on providing health care and support in remote areas of the Midlands.
