Healum’s digital platform has been shortlisted for the HSJ Patient Safety Awards 2019, for Best Emerging Solution for Patient Safety.

Growing the business

In March, Healum and 82 other companies started the spring 2019 cohort of the Business Growth Programme, supported by the Mayor of London and the European Union.

The DigitalHealth.London Accelerator kept us busy too. The year started with a workshop on messaging and communication by Holly Sutton, organised by Journalista, EyeCatcher and the Accelerator. In February, the Accelerator’s Meet the STP workshop introduced the cohort to London’s Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships, to hear the challenges the NHS faces and how we could best support them with technology. In March, an Accelerator workshop shared tips on writing bids, tenders and grants in the UK.

In January, we also joined health tech professionals in London for the launch of the AXA Health Tech & You partnership, to discuss collaborations that help companies scale and work with industry experts.

Social prescribing

In February, we joined a roundtable with the Healthy London Partnership on the Mayor of London’s 10-year vision for social prescribing. In March, we took part in the Westminster Health Forum on the future of social prescribing in England, chaired by the Rt Hon the Lord Howarth of Newport.

AI, genomics and diabetes

  • Digital Health Summit, London (February). We spent Valentine’s Day at Bloomberg’s London headquarters, discussing advances in artificial intelligence in healthcare.
  • Genomics England’s 5th Discovery Forum (March). On adding value to genome sequencing data with clinical and lifestyle data.
  • TADTalk. A Saturday morning at Talking About Diabetes, organised by Partha Kar and team. It was inspiring to hear how much people with type 1 diabetes have achieved in their lives.
